Stand of Birch Trees

Oil on canvas, 8" x 10"    I was fascinated with the diagonals created by the  birch trees and the play of sunlight and shadows across the snow. It was a bitterly cold morning, about -17 degrees.

    This is gorgeous. Were you out there in that bitter cold? I'm surprised your oil paints didn't freeze!
