Oil on canvas, 14" x 14". I was fascinated with this unusual view of the Harbor, and the patterns and the perspective. It was a challenging piece and I really struggled with it for a long time.
For you who are interested, I am now on Facebook. You can follow my posts of recent and past work.

Abandoned Farmhouse, Leelanau County
Oil on canvas, 11" x 14" - This plein air (on location) painting was completed in July a couple years ago. Loved the mystery of the location and the simple architectural elements and the strong light coming in from the right side. Available for sale.

Haven in the Pines no. 4
Oil on canvas, 18" x 24". This stand of pines, planted in the early 50's has matured into a beautiful grove. Recently, while passing by, I noticed glowing sunlight filtering through the trees, illuminating a small patch of snow . It spoke of peace that God gives in the midst of the storm.

Edge of the Lake no. 3
Oil on canvas, 24" x 30" This painting is another variation of a northern Michigan lake that has been the focus of several paintings over the past 10 years. I am leaving this piece a little unfinished for fear of overworking the lily pads and ending up with a stiff painting that is so, so easy to have happen!

Farm at Port Onieda no.4
Oil on board, 8" x 10" - This small work is the 4th in a series of oils of a homestead in the Sleeping Bear Dunes park in northwestern Michigan. I have purposely left it loose with not a lot of detail because it is more of a study in color and composition. Chances are good that this piece will be developed into a larger painting in the near future.
